Meeting Minutes: February 2015

Say hello to our newest Board Members:  Aleece Raw, Kris Meese and James Wieser.  All three were elected by unanimous vote of the board members present at the meeting February 15.

At the meeting we primarily discussed how to come up with the languaging that will make our organization more effective.  Don suggested that we hire marketing expertise and Aleece offered to fulfill that role.  Aleece recommends that we work out a "sound bite" that attracts people to a specific action.  Perhaps that should be around the Bee Safe Neighborhood program or something to do with the food cell.

Please feel free to share any ideas here or, for those of you on face book, the conversation continues here:

Also, for those of you who do not know, James Wieser has been working with me these past two years adding mushrooms into our systems.  James works with our deep mulch gardening from the point of view of mycology.  James recently launched his Carbon Negative Agriculture site that pulls together the science about our deep mulch gardening and whole soil ecosystems:

Mushrooms are another possible approach to the sound bite.  Here is how I would like to think about that.  Ideally, we would have something really simple and understandable to attract people to the door, and then something to maybe cause them to want to take a peak through the door, and then, for those who are ready, something to make them want to walk through the door.

Thank you all for your participation.  It means more to me than I can possibly express.
